Same same but different: We getpressis share a vision — while at the same time being a colorful bunch who don’t always agree. That can create friction, but even more so, it leads to fruitful exchange and creativity. We love it. Today, we’re introducing you to three team members in an interview: Katrina, Samy, and Pauli.
Three getpressis, three ways of working — and very different talents: Katrina sharpens stories until it’s crystal clear why they need to be told. Samy brings timing, speed, and a surprisingly solid knowledge of flags. And Pauli? He’s a strategic storyteller with a diplomatic streak — and left us with a little “to be continued” on a few answers… he likes keeping us in suspense, apparently.

getpress in three words: fast, ambitious, visionary
If you forgot your official title for a moment, what would your role be called if it fully captured everything you do at getpress?
“Fully” might be a bit ambitious… But perhaps something like: Story Sharpener, Structure Creator, occasional Devil’s Advocate, and quite often Deadline Guardian with a moderate obsession with organization…
What has been your biggest milestone at getpress so far?
I don’t have one single milestone yet. I tend to remember the perhaps not-so-big moments when you realize that our work together has paid off — like after a successful kickoff, really great feedback, or when you finally land coverage in the absolute dream publication for a client.
What was your biggest fail — and what did you learn from it?
Luckily, I don’t have anything major to report so far — and I’m happy to keep it that way! It’s the small, “unnecessary” mistakes that annoy me more, like forgetting a link or attachment when I’m in a rush and having to send a “mea culpa” email afterward. Those things particularly bother me because, in my opinion, good client relationships don’t ONLY depend on good ideas, but also on such “old-fashioned” things as care and reliability.
Looking ahead: What does the industry need right now, and what contribution would you like to make?
I think, above all, it needs more substance and less (pure) noise. There’s an abundance of topics, opinions, and content today; precisely because of that, truly relevant stories can sometimes get lost. One of our most important jobs, in my opinion, is to help those stories reach their full “potential” — to sharpen them until it becomes clear why they deserve to be told.
Imagine you at getpress were animals: Which animal would you be, and why?
Maybe an owl? Not because I’m particularly wise or mysterious (I’m still working on both…!), but because I like to keep an overview, observe first, and try to stay calm and focused even during stressful periods. But once I’ve really sunk my teeth into a topic, I can also be pretty persistent!

getpress in three words: efficient, dynamic, forward-thinking
If you forgot your official title for a moment, what would your role be called if it fully captured everything you do at getpress?
Sounds arrogant, unfortunately, but something along the lines of: A well-informed advisor with strong communication skills, a good sense of timing, and an instinct for the right way to approach journalists.
What has been your biggest milestone at getpress so far?
So far, I’ve been happiest about the positive feedback from clients. Alongside our professional way of working, they’ve praised things like how quickly we understand their topics and how persistently we follow up on loose ends.
What was your biggest fail — and what did you learn from it?
Luckily, I’ve been spared any major client-related fails so far. Internally, though, it was pretty embarrassing when I completely missed my introductory call with the CEO during onboarding week and was 10 minutes late 🫠… It hasn’t happened again since.
Looking ahead: What does the industry need right now, and what contribution would you like to make?
Optimism and less alarmism. I also believe that good journalism will play a central role in the coming period, given the wave of generically produced AI content. We’re contributing to that.
Imagine you at getpress were animals: Which animal would you be, and why?
I see myself as a woodpecker. It’s nimble, independent, and often pecks away at things persistently.

getpress in three words: Future of PR
If you forgot your official title for a moment, what would your role be called if it fully captured everything you do at getpress?
Consulting Storyteller with a diplomatic function.
What has been your biggest milestone at getpress so far?
Coverage that delivers real added value to journalists’ readers, has a positive impact, and makes the client happy is always a good thing.…
What was your biggest fail — and what did you learn from it?
Here Pauli leaves us in the dark…
Looking ahead: What does the industry need right now, and what contribution would you like to make?
Even if it usually doesn’t get as many clicks: optimism. There are so many ideas and so much positive energy in Europe to tackle the big problems. It’s the job of journalism and PR to bring that into the public sphere — with curiosity, openness, and conviction.
Imagine you at getpress were animals: Which animal would you be, and why?
Apparently, Pauli doesn’t want to give us any information here either…
